I am James A. Putnam. I own and administer this website and the forum it links to. The forum celebrates ourselves and this universe that gave birth to us. However, it is a place for the thoughts of others to thrive. Their ideas and their perspectives are presented in their own words.  They each are moderators for their own writings. They own the copyrights and are directly responsible for the content of their pages. They may or may not choose to use their real names. However, I know who they are. I am the buffer. All writings presented here and all visitor comments will pass through me. Respectful, helpful, probing, constructive messages are welcome. The author decides whether or not they will enter into discussions with readers. They choose whether or not to allow postings other than their own. Please view their individual guidelines. Thank you.

AUTHORS

You are welcome to visit my personal site at: http://newphysicstheory.com.

Rules for current and prospective authors: You must be accepted by me as a participating author. Physics, life and intelligence are the topics. You may write prose, poetry, nonfiction or fiction. You should already have a backlog of unpublished writings. If you cannot continue contributing on a regular basis, then your limited submission or submissions must be very good. I am the final judge of what is very good. I will need to evaluate examples of your work before deciding to accept your participation. You may give links to writings that you previously published. If you wish to restate your previously published ideas here, then substantially change your presentation. You always participate on the condition that I can end your participation at my sole discretion without engaging in an explanation. Ending your participation may include removal of your writings as well as refusing additional submissions. Your writings will be removed upon your request. Your rights as an author will always be respected. For as long as your writings are posted here, you will receive your due credit. These rules have to do with protecting the quality and integrity of this website and in no way are intended to infringe upon your rights as an author. Your viewpoint is expected to add clarity and advance our understanding of the nature of this universe that gave birth to us. You should be familiar with my writings. My position is that intelligence cannot arise from dumbness. I think that this is self evident. However, a great many people believe that inanimate dumbness is the fundamental cause of intelligent life. Those people have many other places on the Internet to display their opinions. This website exists for the purpose of celebrating our significance in the universe. Your submissions must be well written in proper English. Obscenities and vulgar language have no place here. Please write clearly and comprehensively enough for readers to understand your viewpoint. Make your meanings as clear as you can. This will usually require repeated editing and rewriting. Specific religions cannot be promoted here. Referring to the original cause of intelligence as God is acceptable. If you prefer to speak in terms of original intelligence with no direct reference to a deity, that is fine. That has been my own approach. Offer original work as the majority of your writings. Please respect the copyrights of others. If you wish to cite the writings of others, give them their due credit. When including or critiquing the thoughts of others, please make it clear where you became aware of those ideas. Restrict your analysis of the work of others to writings that are publicly available. Write critically about their ideas and not about them. I may communicate directly with authors about changing something specific to their method of presentation. I am still developing these rules. They may change as I continue to prepare this website. Your request to become a contributing author establishes that you read and agree to these rules.
